Why am I having crashing issues on Windows?
We've noticed that if you are not running the most up to date Jave Runtime Environment (1.5.07), there can be some crashing issues. This has to do with how some older versions of the Java Runtime Environment handle memory. To upgrade, click here and select the Windows installation and follow the steps indicated by the installer program.

Why can I only see part of the lobby including buttons but no listings of games?
There is an issue that if you run Pox Nora at a resolution of less than 1024x768, the game will not display correctly. Please increase your resolution to at least 1024x768 when attempting to play. You can do this in Windows by right clicking on an open area of the desktop and then selecting Properties, and going to the Display tab and increasing the resolution there. In Mac OS X, resolution can be changed in the Displays panel in the System Properties.

Why can't I connect to the server?
If you are able to successfully download and run the PoxNora client, but it does not connect to the server (which is indicated by your player name being shown as " and no lobbies being shown), please check to see that PoxNora/Java Webstart is allowed to connect to the internet if you have a personal firewall. PoxNora connects to the server via port 22322 so please also make sure that the port is not blocked from sending or receiving traffic. ** Please note that in some extreme circumstances there may be a server error that is causing this problem, so if you have previously been able to connect and are encountering this problem, it may be a server issue. In this case, please use the Support option and submit a ticket and we will look into the issue as soon as possible.

Why is my game screen all black or all white?
If you are not seeing any of the graphics being drawn after launching Pox Nora on Windows, it's likely that your Java OpenGL (JOGL) is either out of date or somehow damaged. To repair it, follow the steps outlined below:
- Click the Start Button
- Click Run
- Type in "javaws" and press return. This will load the Java Webstart Application Cache viewer.
- Click on the JOGL libraries in the list of applications
- Click on "Remove Selected Library"
- Close the Java Webstart Application Cache Viewer window.
- After this is finished, click on the Play Now button and launch Pox Nora again. It will then reload JOGL onto your system.
If that fails to work, you can also run the game in Software Acceleration mode. To select this, click on Preferences under Account on the left hand side of the website. Then click on the Software Acceleration option and click on Submit to save the settings. Please note that Software Acceleration runs at a lower frame rate and does not include all the graphical features that OpenGL does, and we recommend running in OpenGL if possible.
